The book was first written in 1964 as a response to Chairman Mao's "Little Red Book". Jealous of the Little Red Book's success, General Gregory Schmerdiakov decided to make his book the "Three B's" - Bigger, Browner and Bookier. He is very proud of this, and has the streets of Slabovia policed such that – should a citizen be found without a copy – any non-carrier will be punished.
Every citizen of Slabovia is required to read their Big N Brown Book on a frequent basis as it is regularly updated in accordance with events in Slabovia.
